Exercise Physiology
Exercise Physiologists are University trained Allied Health professionals who are experts in exercise. They use exercise prescription to promote positive health outcomes. Their goal is to design safe and effective exercise programs for clients after conducting a thorough assessment of their medical history. These programs may include gym sessions with cardio, weight training, and balance exercises. Education is essential, and clients may also be given home-based exercise programs. Exercise Physiologists collaborate with General Practitioners under the Medicare Chronic Disease Management Program, NDIS, and DVA to provide comprehensive care for managing chronic diseases and improving wellness.

During your initial consultation, your Exercise Physiologist will assess your overall health, strength, and exercise capabilities to design a program that meets your needs and goals. You can choose to have weekly, fortnightly or monthly sessions with your Exercise Physiologist, or they can create a gym or home program for you. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes to your first appointment.

We are located at 27/8 Lewalan Street Grovedale. When entering Lewalan Street drive towards Blackman’s Brewery straight ahead, then turn left once you reach it and we are the second venue on the left. If it is your first appointment, come through the office entrance to the left of the roller door.

Cash and card payments are accepted (Visa & Master Card). We do not normally offer credit on account payment. HICAPS facilities are available for private health insurance claims. Patients may be eligible for a rebate from Medicare under the Chronic Disease Management (CDM), however this must be in place and initiated by a GP before treatment commences.

Prices
Initial Consultation (60-75mins) $110
Initial consultations involve a thorough discussion of your reason for attending along with a physical assessment to develop an appropriate program. From this your Exercise Physiologist will write an individualised program and make a plan for your upcoming sessions.
Follow Up Appointment (60mins) $90
After your first session, follow up appointments run for 60 minutes where your Exercise Physiologist will take you through your program, making adjustments where necessary.
Medicare
Medicare do offer rebates for Exercise Physiology under a GP referred care plan. This includes 5 sessions per calendar year. There is a gap payment on top of this of $52 for an initial appointment and $32 for a follow up appointment.
Private Health
Exercise Physiology is normally covered by private health insurance. Please check with your provider to see if you are eligible for a rebate.
NDIS/DVA/TAC/Workcover
Each of these sectors have their own price rates which Core Health Group adheres too. We do not charge gap payments for any of these appointment types. If you wish to view their price guides please follow their individual websites for more information.
